Starting in 2016 the Professional Development Grants and Group Project Grants was combined into one grant titled the Academic Project Support Grant (APSG). There are two types of this grant available, both of which can be applied for using the same form:
- Individual APSG
- Group APSG
Purpose of Grants
Grants are available to individual graduate students and groups of students who are actively involved in an academic project, not directly related to their degree requirements, but which will be of value to their future careers. Recognized academic projects may include, but are not limited to: presenting at an academic conference, developing a prototype for public presentation or participation in a contest, exhibit or performance, getting a work published, courses such as English for Academic Purposes for Graduate Students or innovation and entrepreneurship workshops (among others), attendance at workshops and hosting workshops, and professional skills and development.
