The Peer Beyond Graduate Research Conference is back!. This year, the Conference will be hosted at the Barrier Lake Field Station from February 21 to 23, 2024! Attend the Peer Beyond Graduate Research Conference, UCalgary’s multi-disciplinary graduate research conference, to present your research. This conference offers UCalgary graduate students a unique opportunity to present your research and to cultivate interdisciplinary collaborations within the graduate community.

Barrier Lake Field Station

For the first time ever, Peer Beyond is being held off campus!

Barrier Lake Field Station is a research facility owned and operated by the University of Calgary's Biogeoscience Institute.
Accompanied by unbeatable views of the lake, the facility will provide Peer Beyond 2024 attendees a unique experience as we take the annual conference off campus for the first time ever!
Those selected to present at the conference will be provided with transportation, accommodations and meals throughout the conference. ALL COVERED BY THE GSA!

Presentation Options

Each presenter will have approximately 10 minutes to speak and an additional 5 minutes for questions. 

Please Note: We have limited capacity for talk presentations. Not everyone that registers will be selected.
Please remember that this is a multi-disciplinary conference, so the selection of speakers will be carried out by a multi-disciplinary committee, so make sure that your ideas can be properly communicated to the layperson. 

Guidelines for Submissions

  • Titles of presentations are limited to 60 characters.
  • Abstracts are limited to 1,500 characters. 
  • Abstracts must be submitted via this form
  • Abstracts that do not meet the requirements will not be considered.
  • Submission of the abstract constitutes permission for the conference organizers to publish the abstracts in either printed or electronic format.
  • Submission deadline is December 1, 2023 at 11:59 pm, no late submissions will be considered.
