Residence & Family Housing Committee

The Family Housing and Residence Committee is responsible for enhancing the residence experience of graduate students living on the University of Calgary’s main campus. We also act as an advocacy voice for graduate student residents by sharing your concerns with relevant university stakeholders (e.g. Residence Services). Our group primarily serves Family Housing and Crowsnest Hall, as well as any other residence buildings housing graduate students.

More specifically, our committee members run events across campus aimed at strengthening the sense of community among graduate student residents and hearing your concerns. Past events include: a family carnival, pumpkin painting, Halloween costume party, and “Go Green” photo contest. We also helped organize last year’s Crowsnest Hall Multidisciplinary Research Conference in March 2016.

Beyond running events, we also liaise with various student groups including: Residence Services, Residence Education Team, the Graduate College Scholars, Global Families, and International Student Services to explore how best to support graduate student residents.
