Dear academically employed graduate students,
We are pleased to inform you that we have reached an agreement with the university’s Board of Governors in relation to the new Collective Agreement. This Agreement outlines the responsibilities of both graduate students who are academically employed by the University and the University, through the departments, researchers and course instructors who employ graduate students.
For this Agreement, the primary concerns of the GSA’s Labour Relations Committee were to simplify the document’s structure and make it easier for various units on campus to hire graduate students.
As such, please see the Memorandum of Agreement here for the key provisions and changes to our Collective Agreement.
The full CA for ratification can be viewed here.
The GSA is holding a general meeting to discuss the proposed changes and answer any questions you may have.
The General Meeting is Wednesday, May 20th at 4 pm. Please register HERE.
An email with the link to vote will be sent directly to all Academically Employed Graduate Students. The vote will be held May 21st to May 28th.
Sincerely,
Brit Paris, Chair of the Labour Relations Committee
Graduate Students’ Association, University of Calgary
Tanille Shandro, President
